WASHINGTON – Police say they have found a potential lead in the serial groper case in Fairfax County. It comes from a video taken at a store in the Kingstowne Shopping center during a groping incident on March 28.
Fairfax County police spokeswoman Lucy Caldwell says they are hoping someone recognizes the man in the video.
“We do believe that individual could be connected to Thursday’s incident at the HomeGoods Store, and detectives are working to see whether or not he could be a suspect in all the other cases,” she says.
There have been 23 other attacks in the Springfield area. In all the cases, the victim was approached from behind and groped. They all happened on public streets. The latest incident occurred indoors. Caldwell says they are hoping someone can recognize the man in the video below:
“Someone could recognize something, perhaps the clothing, perhaps the way he’s walking, or his stride or something like that,” she says.
Anyone with information is being asked to call police at 703-691-2131 or contact CrimeSolvers at 866-411-TIPS.
